Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering team on supply chain concepts and enforce supply chain plans that secure supply and minimize disruptions at all phases of new designs.
- Monitor new product development sourcing projects to assure on-time completion and guaranteed supply
- Lead request for information, quotation, proposal and bidding processes
- Lead supplier selection processes in coordination with supplier quality teams and management
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and lead the contracting process
- Identify opportunities and implement actions to improved efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering with experience in supply chain or equivalent combination of higher degree and experience
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in sourcing, preferably with position in NPD sourcing or advanced purchasing
- Experience in design engineering, new product development within an integrated project team or manufacturing experience .
- Strong leader skills and ability to effect change
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Candidate with ERP knowledge and strong exposure in purchase of fabrication, machining & commercial parts is an added advantage
